Reflact is a blending of two words: reflect and act. Our purpose in blending these words is to communicate that reflection and action need each other, and they should never be separate. When we reflect, we are always reflecting on action, sometimes even in action. When we reflect on Scripture, we are reflecting primarily on the action of God in history. But we are also reflection within a context of our own action, action which we hope is beautifully fitting to God’s own exemplary action.
Reflecting without acting is like eating without exercising: we get spiritually fat and out of shape. Of course, the opposite is also true. Acting without reflecting is like exercising without eating well, running the risk of burnout. Reflaction, therefore, is a word that communicates the inseparable relationship between reflection and action in our Christian lives.
We desire this blog to be not just mere reflection, but reflection on/in action: both the action of God and our own action as we seek to follow him in our daily lives. And we invite you to join in with your own reflection on/in action, making a community of reflactors seeking to be faithful and fitting to both Scripture and our particular situations.
